Maisie is my heart dog. She wasn't the best looking Manchester and had faults aplenty but she was my first Manchester after a gap while I had children. I adored her and she in turn was very much my girl. She came out of kennels and made herself at home straight away, charming everyone who came to see her. She knew her likes and dislikes and soon had us well trained too. She was a dreadful escape artist and would leg it out of the gate in a nano second , taking herself off for a jaunt down the park. She loved her family but took a while to warm to strangers and if she decided she didn't like someone, nothing and no one could change her mind. Maisie had a litter of puppies and adored being a mum. Nothing was too much trouble for her babies and she did them well. Unfortunately for me, at the end of 2007 Maisie went down with Auto-Immune Hemolytic Anemia [AIHA] and despite transfusions and lots of help from my vet, nothing could be done for her and she went to sleep in my arms on Boxing Day. To say I was bereft was an understatement and I still miss her.
